hey guy's
Im ripping my hair out, i just dyno'd my car and got 148hp atw's, 2 weeks ago on the same dyno with out extractors i got 152hp(112kw) WTF
both times were in shoutout mode
the thing i dont get is the car feels like its pulling harder than it eva has!!!!
every time i do a mod i dyno it so i can see the gains
stock 100kw
mufler and cai 107kw
mufler, new cai and hiflow T/B 116kw all on 1 dyno
mufler, new cai and hiflow T/B 124kw differnt dyno
mufler, new cai and hiflow T/B 112kw(152hp) (new plugs and leads)
mufler, new cai, hiflow T/B and pacemaker extractors 111kw(148hp) on a new dyno in shootout mode
AFR is between 11.5 and 12
anyone got any idea's?
Thanks

What about things like temperature, humidity etc? These can affect dyno readings.

Could be a number of factors causing this, don't stress. Could be what dopey said above me or fuel quality...so many variables. You'll do better next time.

IMO 112kw is still sh$# on a bad day with the mods i have optimax and octane boost
im going to replace the dizzy cap and rotor button asap, its done about 70k
but i could'nt see huge gains from that, still worth a try!

Yeah it sounds strange, but I dont think it's too much to worry about. Is the dizzy cap and button evidently worn or rusted? Otherwise I can't see why you'd need to replace it

Dyno's day to day have really big changes, you have to prove it's gains down the 1/4!!

does'nt shootout mode help fix that?

As u said.. different dyno.. don't compare results from different dynos... go back to the original one, & unless theres sumthin wrong, I'll bet u'll find an increase.

the only way u'll see the benefits is if u dyno, put extractors on, dyno, same day same conditions

It was the same dyno..but like KB said every varies due to temperature etc. It really needs to be done on the same day if anything.

and also input variables and settings will also affect your "final score". cos its basically like a computer game..... 'see what we can do to make the most kw'
you need to make sure the same settings are used when you go back to the same dyno.

Yeah im going to take it back to where i first got it dyno'd
ill feel a bit better now Sic VS v6 (VS condom 3.8) got 150hp and we just had a drag and i won :D
would it make much difference how hard they strap me down......cause F&^% it felt tighter than normal
has anyone got simaler mods, and how much HP?
Rallyart cams are next on the list, what do you guys think?

you will take full advantage of the mods you have if you chip it.
installing cam is good only if you have the ECU to utilize the cam.

specialy when a 1L can make 92 :P
i bet it was just jubious dyno readings, terminal speed is the best indicator of effects of mods, as it rarely changes alot from driving styles

correct, even same dyno's on different days give different results. definatly within the sort of range extractors will change your readouts

im getting a greedy after that, then i only have to do 1 tune for the whole lot

with all this money u are spending on mods, did a manual conversion ever come into thinking? thats gotta be about the biggest performance upgrade you could do to an auto magna i would think :P

i have optimax and octane boost
Which will do diddly squat with your current setup.
How long since your headers were installed and the dyno? Headers can give better results once they've carbonised or bedded in. Go back after a couple of weeks.
Doesn't matter if the dyno is in shoot out mode or not. An operator can still cause it to give different readings. Have you compared the shape of the graphs? Realistically, dyno's are tuning tools, peak power is just for bragging rights and don't even tell half the story.

yeah by the sounds of it even give it some descent rev ranges and take it back after around a month, then you should see some better gains. I had wildcats put on my 3.0L TF and i lost power then the next time i took it back 2 months later it was up slightly. And i was also told that the incorporation of a chip or computer would bring out the best of these disegned extractors.
Good luck hunting the horsepower A:flame:

cost way toomuch and its not that easy
iv had them on for just over a week now........so ill give it some time

best way to measure the increase of mods is to check your MPH, and best thing about that is that the drags only cost 20 bucks for unlimited runs :D you will notice 1 or 2 mph increase after extractors. its hard to gauge times unless your VERY consistant at driving the 400m. even then a gust of wind can change the cars time 0.1 of a second

Measure it with the seat of your pants!! :D
