I did the two front doors, the inserts and the bottom bits, plus painted the speaker grill and handle holder thingy.
Took an afternoon, so not too bad.

Here's a few pics.

Interesting blue ring around the speaker....why not a black ring? why not take the grill off so they can see ya aftermarket speakers! (if u have any)

Anyways, I'm disappointed...why didn't you use fluff!!!
Nah, I'm just joking, workmanship looks excellent, good stuff :D

It is the same material from the top and bottom.

The material I bought from "spotlight", it is very thick, I checked the reciept, and it says "dress weaves".

It's about 2mm thick, and looks the same as the stuff they use in little trim areas like in the coin and knick knack areas of other cars.

One side is matted, that's the glue side, the other is a open weave, that's the show side.

It's a fairly simple operation, you remove the door panels, and unscrew the inserts, then pull off the old material and use that as a cutout template for the new material, then use contact adhedsive and brush the back side of the material and the insert board, then wait a few minutes for them to dry and stick them together and rub the material into the board to iron out the wrinkles.

I was suprised how easy it is, and I have'nt done anything like this before.

Yeah thin vinyl would be harder to work with, this stuff is thick, and so easy to put on.

Hey, that's super sweet dude.

Yeah she looks a little different now.

I wanted to go Blue too, but the colour just does'nt suit the outside colour of my car, but it looks sweet on yours.

How could I forget the drive in your car!!! :D It's what made me get a manual V6.

Hmm...i reckon painting the door handle surrounds would be a lot better. I mean, you would probably wear off the paint after a while...and silver door handles on black surrounds look weird. Oh well, whatever turns u on :D

Chrome would be awesome

I wanted blue fluff but they were out of stock!! :P

Yeah, I photochopped it with silver surrounds, blue armrests,
and everything in between. :D

Finally settled on that colour scheme. The Missus thought that was the best too, so went with that.

It's a blue vinyl. :D

If you're gonna get some, go to a motor trimmer and ask to look at
a swatch of samples.(50-100 colours)

Find the one you like, take note of the code on the back (292N in this case),
then if you don't like the pricing you can check elsewhere.

This stuff was about $16 a metre. The local upholsterer did the rest.
They put new foam behind the vinyl so it has a nice padded feel.

About $40 per insert.

$80 per door. Don't know if this is a good price or not (I'm in country Vic.), but I
would have furked it up so left it to the experts. :D

heydude's method looks just as good, and he's saved himself some cash
for mods!!

Yes, Stevie Ray Vaughn was an awesome player. If you like clean sounding Texas blues,
get a listen to "Couldn't stand the weather". It's wicked.

Stevie Ray is the man. Have you heard his version of Little Wing. Blew me away the first time I heard, still blows me away now. Two other personal favourites are Cold Shot and Scuttlebuttin'. Whenever I hear these I feel like a bourbon.
Shame, he left us so soon. Damn Helicopters!

Amen.

I'm trying to do "Cold shot" for the band, 'cept my version sounds
like a Model T Ford compared to a 911 Turbo!! :D

"Lenny" is nice if you're in a mellow mood.
