Hi all, the clutch on my elante is on the way out, well not the driven plate or the pressure plate, but i think one or both the cylinders are on the way out.
I dont drive the car much nemore, gf has it all the time, but the other day i noticed it was "engaging" real close to the floor. When you start the car with your foot down on the clutch (so the gearbox shouldnt be moving at all) reverse crunches, and if your at the lights, foot on the clutch gearbox in first i swear you can smell slight burning rubber.
Its only very minor as it isnt enough to get the car to go forward, but im sure it will go downhill first.
Is there anything i can do besides replacing the clutch? and if not how much would a master cylinder run me? and should i get a slave while im at it? I can put it all in myself, thats not a problem.
Thanks for yer help
