hey dudes, just wanting to know wat d hell is d problem with d airconditioning system on my 93 TR (4cyl)? i got it filled with d gas late last year, and it is already completely empty. is dere sumfing wrong with my airconditioning system, or is it a problem with TR's in general? i asked a bloke from an airconditioning place, and he said that he would convert d unit to the front, instead of the back, for $250.. a bit too expensive for my liking... wat do u guys reckon? He also said it would cost $125 to fill it with gas, but isnt sure how long itll last. Help would b greatly appreciated!

I don't see how moving the A/C canister will solve anything, obviously you have a leak in the system as the gas should last a good 3-5 years.

See if you can see any cracks etc on any of the piping or the condensor etc. It maybe worthwhile taking it to another ac specialist and get their opinion. Tell them you have a leak and try and get it accross to them that you know what your talking about otherwise you will probobly be ripped off.

A gas refil shouldn't cost anymore than 80-90 bucks,

yeah thats the best way to get good deals i find, act like you know what your doing before you go to the actual place to get it checked out...have a look at the system and the piping yourself first..also as blake said taking it to different places and comparing prices is the way to go!

well d (sorry had to) air con system in your car obviously has a leak in it. Take it to an aircon place and they will run a dye through the system and find the leak and fix it. Its not a problem with the TR's themself. And re-locating the air con canister wont make any difference at all, sounds like the bloke your currently dealing with is trying to take you for a ride.

thanks for your help guys, it looks i might go for a drive around to check out other air condition prices! goddamn, i hate having to keep my windows open while on the freeway, especially when it is 30+ degrees c!
