Problem?! - I can smell a wood like burning smell coming from my car? I've noticed this a few nights now after I've got home now.

Not being a mechanic, I can't see anything melted, nor any flames for that matter. And the car still drives / acts fine though, athough I still don't like those types of smells. Electrically everything seems to be working too.

It seems to be coming from the middle / passenger side, towards the front.

Hmm dam, that's the side near the tranmission. About a month ago I had a shop change the trans oil and fit a auto trans cooler. Don't know if there's managed to screw something there. But like I said, it seems to drive fine still. Maybe I'm paranoid.

Car in question is a 2000 Magna TJ Advance Sedan, 4sp auto, ABS, cruise, lowered 1.5", whiteline rear bar, strut brace, 225/60/16 yoko tyres.

Tranmission fluid.

My TR does it since the gearbox has been serviced and it's normal. However get it checked out for piece of mind.

I've since discovered that a hose from the tranmission cooler was touching one of the raidator(?) pipes. So rubber on rubber it had made a little bit of a mark, so I guess this might've been letting off a bit of a smell.

I hope thats the case, but also make sure that the correct transmission fluid was used. Magnas have a history of auto-detonation if the wrong transmission fluid is used...

Cool. A superbly wise move. Given how temperamental mitis auto's can be nothing more than the utmost caution is expected. Two thumbs up

Yes. It seems that they used up surplus hand grenades in their automatic transmissions...
