Ive been thinking of taking a couple of inches off my TP wagon for a while (as well as a few other mods). I was thinking of King Low springs, would these take about 2 inches/50mm off the height? I wasn't going to worry about the rears as they already look low, but if it is recommended that I should do all 4 to the same height I will.
Would I run into any trouble turning lock-to-lock or speed humps with a set-up like this?
Should it alter my insurance? (Im only 3rd party)
Also what is a rough price of a good shock absorber? I want something in the same quality range as Koni, what are some other brands that I should look into?
Ive heard that Kings all round installed (no new shocks) is about $400 is this about right?
Thanx

Using kings lows will drop about 40mm. 30mm straight away and another 10 once it settles. its not that low and shouldn't alter insurance

Sounds good. Iv heard that super lows drop it 55-65mm. How low could I go before I have problems with corners, pot-holes and speed humps, BTW I have 15" rims with 195x60 tyres...Im pretty sure, have to check that up...

Theres some pics somewhere of my car, its got king spring lows, i dont think it dropped it 30mm, but there was a small drop, as a result no probs with scrapin, cept wen u get tonnes of bodyroll thats the killer :P but yer itd be nice to have it gangster low but cant have it all ;)
EDIT: I just went down to goodyear to get a wheel alignment and asked about superlows, as i said my lows were only a small drop. hes of the idea that lows only drop it 15-20mm. While superlow do 50 or so. But they dont make superlow for wagons apparently, im not 100% sure just what im told. Maybe go another brand? unless you are happy with a small drop, i want more dammit!!
yeah i dont think any spring brands make superlows/etc for the 1st gens, i bought some whiteline lows in a group buy a while back as they didnt make flatouts and i knew kings weren't made in super lows, maybe try lovell? or just buy some good qual springs and get them reset but a suspension place, should be about 50$ a pair max, avereage ive heard is about 30$ a pair reset.
as for shocks you could go koni, but what for? KYB are decent and a bit lighter on the pocket, most kids just go Monroe GT gasryders, they're sposed to be quality at around $400 for all pointy ends. (fronts come in a set and rears come each) if you plan on having the car more than 2ish years and you know how to drive i'd spend the money, you'll get it back from performance or if you just trot around and are gonna move the car on in about 2 years get some GT gas, i say 2 years because ive heard from some thats the premium performance life GT gas give out, after that they start to flake up a bit.
note: if you go too low you'll have to get your shocks adjusted (aka cut open and stuff) and thats about $200 for a whole set i think, if i can remember right, so go talk to a suspension place about what you want and then they can cut your shocks up and install it all, done. don't go to some fools like pedders, all the suspension pedders does is either stocko stuff or really bad lowering and they use budget stuff like monroe but charge premuim prices for it (i got quoted 1200$ for lowering my car using stock shocks and king springs)

Other way around the backs come in a set(pair) and fronts come in each(one)
Ive got the monroe GT gas and everyone talks **** about them i dont find them that bad they give the car a smooth as ride till you hit bumps there killers for umsmooth roads tho
As for the springs ull find that ANY spring company will do super lows at a request even tho it might not be on there web site they should them to be custom made if needed if not like ppl have said b4 get the lows compressed (reset) from what ive heard its not good for the spring and will tend to sag quciker then the same not reset
