When you consider what places charge to re-cone subs you might be better just forking out an extra little amount and getting a new one. :D

I damaged one of my old 12" subs a while ago.
Don't ask how it happened, but I ended up tearing the cone from the edge to about 1cm from the center!
I went out and bought a new one, because I thought I had no chance of repairing it.
My brother was then looking for a sub, so I had a go at repairing it. I was able to repair the cone using super glue! It sounds no different then it did before, with no distortion and it still pumps hard! It is still running after about 5 months! :)
Moral of this story....try and repair it yourself....if you have no luck, just buy a new sub. As Fhrx has already mentioned, it may cost just as much for someone else to repair it as it would to buy a new one! :)

As I always like to disagree with everyone :) You can repair it if it is not too badly damaged - Jaycar Electronics had rubber surround kits a while ago, with the correct glue.
You do have other options as well... Depending on the surround material.
If it is foam, you can use a little bit of black (or whatever colour) silastic, if it is rubber, then you can use the rubber adhesive that comes with a bicycle inner tube repair kit, with the repair patch trimmed down to size.
The success of the repair depends how big the tear is, and where it is. Vintage radio enthusiasts use silastic all the time to repair speaker cones and it works (and lasts) fine... of course they are paper surrounds with less excursion, but what do you have to lose?
Cheers
