hey guys,
My a/c in my tf magna has a rattling noise when rpm reaches 1100-1300 in Drive. Got it check it by mechanics, they reckon i need a new a/c compressor, however the air con works allright, cools and heats. As a new compressor costs 750 (mechanic advise me not to get 2nd hand ones cost about 350-400) im reluctant to fix the problem until i have to.

Is this problem normal? rattling a/c but works??? i suspect it might be some belts, however i know nothing about it.

my sister mondeo did this too, suppsodly a hoseclamp was loose n they tightened it but still rattles

dribble water on to the pulley/clutch when it is making the noise

if it goes away then its something external like a warped pulley or the clutch isn't engaging, if it stayes there then it might be internal and big bucks to replace as they are non servicable units i assume
