has anyone ever had there front muffler taken out on there 2.6 litre motor i have a 2.25 inch sports system from the cat back but i want it to be a bit louder if i take the front muffler off would it sound ****house

from what ive heard with the 2.6efi once the ressonator (i presume the muffler your talkin bout)has been takin off its gonna sound very tinny and ricy maybe louder but the tone wont be as good or deep

what about replacing the resonator with a hot dog

speak to Nick on the forums im fairly sure hes got a lukey hotdog 2.25" and a ultra flow on the back he send me a sound clip a while back sounded beafy not ricey at all

I know I drive a 3.0 but I have removed the resonator from my exhaust and it does sound that little bit tinny. That said, there is a lot of difference between the exhaust note when the exhaust is cold and when it has warmed up.
