Does anyone know - A: Engine dimentions
B: Engine bay dimentions
c: Which model/year/type of magna has the biggest engine bay
D: Does the AWD have a bigger bay
E: If not is an AWD conversion easy with the right amount of money
I need to know these things before buying a new car as I have "plans" for it.
Any and all help would be great.

A - Pass
B - Pass
C - id say they are all the same. TE - TL/TW
D - I dare say not
E - money will make your car hover. yes, ive looked into this, and by far, easier to start with an AWD platform. it would of cost me close to 20,000$ for all the AWD bits. and even then someone's gotta install it, and your not guaranteed its as good as a off the factory floor AWD. if anything, worse

Hey guys !
The latter models have an engine bay large enough to fit a 5.0ltr V8 with a conversion to rear wheel drive !
One was set up 2 years ago to compete with the V8 super cars but was not allowed by the racing body because they did not have them as a factory standard (need 200 of them built)
But mitubishi went down the track of AWD with a 3.5 ltr motor !
This begs the question as to what are your intentions
Buy a AWD 3.5 ltr and twin turbo it and get som 400kw of usable power out of the free spinning 6 !!
Hope this answeres your questions !

Greetings All.
I think you will find that the Auto Box will only hold upto about 250kw before it dies...
So no twin-turbo's unless you can convert to manual. (Evo 8 box should do the trick)
Cheers,

D: No the Engine and all others is exactly the same. It has a freer flowing exhaust which gives it a bit more power, but the drive train sucks most of that up.
E: The whole chassis is based upon the Diamante from Japan.
I saw a non-sports model advertised at a dealer for $21K. I think that would be cheaper than buying anything else and then converting it.
If you want to know the engine and gear box are in the engine bay. The gear box drives a LSD just forward of the fire wall, normally this is one in and two outs. On the AWD it is one in and three outs. The tail shaft heads down through 2 Unijoints to the rear LSD, a tiny thing about the size of four fists.
If you were going to put a lot of power into this it would be much like the WRX. Horsepower heroes with these cars remove the AWD and install a dog box.
Put the foot down and you will just cavatate the oil. Go learn about how and auto gear box works. This is not to say that it can't be done.
The magna is just too heavy to go that fast. if the evo drive train was put into the magna and the magna engine made to makle the same power you would just keep blowing up the drivetrain from overstressing.
The Skyline GTR is 4WD, not viscous LSDs distributing power but racing strength gear installed, you cannot match it.

Well young blake !
Before you dribble on too much more you should drop over to PWR in Osy Park and check out there 2002/2003 street AWD manual magna with twin turbos at 408kws running standard drive train and lightning quick down the 1/4 mile !
It was at the auto show a couple of weeks ago if you went you would have been able to read the specs for your self !

Who is blake? Not on this thread

Dribble comes from those that read workshop specs and believe them.
I have felt my AWD slip before under high load and my engine only outputs 160kW, but you are right it could have been the auto gearbox.

Ahh Manual conversion right. So a $30000 car with $5000 manual conversion with $5000+ of turbos and engine work. You could by a Skyline GTR for that, imported from japan in good condition.

Don't you mean Dave at RPW? This is a FWD TJ1. It sure does f'n fly!
I've got a TJ2 AWD and I doubt it could run 408kw - let alone 250kw standard guise.
I'm aiming for 200kw N/A. The gearbox is the prob: too much slip, no 'economy mode' suggests it needs the slippage to keep the power OFF the gearbox and drivetrain. I'd luv to hear wrong, the AWD is such a sweet ride. I have lots of HSV owners gauking at my AWD - wish I could beat just ONE of them!!
