cupholders, only the bloody TE didnt get cupholders!
A few weeks ago i finally had enough, and went to the wreckers and got a TF cupholder console bit for $35 (also used my existing clips and sold the new clips it came with to my brother for $10 cos the TH he just bought were missing like 4 of them) lol

I say paint it a nice subtle colour that stands out a little but not too much.
I personally dislike woodgrain, especially if you're going for a more sporty look.

How much would it cost to paint the centre console in Harlequin?? I'm interested
Hey, I know, why doesnt someone make up a perspex centre console? I mean, it doesn't have to be clear, it could be tinted slightly....It could give a ghetto/industrial look
Don't worry about me....

Oh Eek, A clear console... that would be the ugliest possible thing i could imagine lol things aint pretty under those panels as you probably know! ;) Oh and did anyone say scratch city? Stick to yer blue fluff... that might look...well.......interesting lol
I sprayed part of my center console matt black, which looked good, well mounds better than the worn down flakey coating they have, to see how it would go but even mat black scratches quite decently... whatever it is, I think you really need to prepare the surface properly... like as in a light sanding with Wet&Dry 1200grit get rid of any surface contaminants and give it several coatings whatever it is... I think I did about 8 coatings all up.

yes, it is very ugly back there, but....heyy, what if u had a centre console that glows? like a big sheet of EL paper like the stuff on dials?
surface prep? no sanding, just rubbed with grease/wax remover and go crazy with primer and paint. 12+ coats all up, and paint all in perfect condition so far.
Blue fluff is the cool :shifty:

I still believe it should be sanded lightly with a fine grit wet paper, to get the best possible surface adhesion... lets face it, it cant hurt to do it anyway... and yes I was working in plastics for 7 years (another past career to add to the collection!) and sanding is recommended if a plastic surface is to be painted... and yes primer is good too, which I would use after sanding and before the top coats. I don't believe that primer alone is 100% effective on most plastics.
