Yes they did.
Being 93 it'll be a KR model. General wear and tear, check the km's and see if it has had a new timing belt, have a close listen for any sounds of CV noises when you test drive it. Check to make sure the auto changes are smooth and there will be a few other things that Madmagna is bound to bring up as he knows 2nd gen magnas inside and out.
Howdy, if you are after an EI, its better to get the KS EI. The KR EI was pretty much basic
except for the v6 as standard. It doesn't even have alloys as standard. Even the TR Elite was
better fitted then the KR EI. As I mentioned before, the KR EI only has the v6 over the TR Elite
but the TR Elite has so much more goodies. Better yet, get yourselft a KS XI :D

Hi Mate,
You are in Vic and so am I, as I look after a lot of the local members cars I am more than happy to have a look at this car so you can get a true understanding of the car and what it will or may need in the future as far as maintenance.
PM me if you are interested and we can set up a mutual time, I am in Boronia.
As far as problems with this model, cam belt gets done every 100,000k's if it has not had them it will most likely be due for a set of valve stem seals by now. The only real rust areas in these are around the rear tail lights and that is it.
The front suspension bushes should be checked, mainly the rear set as these tend to deteroate (excuse spelling) by this age.
Other normal checks should be also done.

There are only a few minor differences between the EI and the XI in the KR series, some ei did have alloys however few keep any of the factory alloys so it is spent paying extra just for this.
The things that the XI had on the "R" series had was the woodgrain, the larger deck with 6 speakers (which will usually be removed and speakers replaced), steering wheel controls and the climate control which was only really a toy at best. The ETACS is also a joke when it comes to security however it is not bad with the other features such as light dimming etc.
Except the 91 models the EI had all the electric windows, central locking, the cruise control etc.
I have the XI myself, I am happy with it, my last one was and Ei and was equally as happy with that as well.
