extractors and exhaust would be a good place to start along with a good cold air intake setup.

As for the front dash mount speakers.. ignore them, they are only crappy 4" speakers, far better off to just disconect them and forget about em and install some 6" speakers into the doors.

You'll be hard pressed to get some decent speakers to fit in the dash. If you don't want to cut the doors then get some door trims out of a verada that have the speaker pods. The holes in the dash are too shallow to fit any speakers in.

This thread has been done more than once, do a search, here's a breif description on what to do,
Get a flat head screw driver
pry the metal grill off the speaker (it just clips out wiht abit of force)
ok you'll need a SMALL (i mean really small) phillips head here, i used a drill bit cuz it was only about an inch long. take out your stock speakers. NOW, there will be a plastic thing that goes accross the hole, it is not important just cut it off. Then stick in your new speaker, you may have to bend some of the mounting brackets for it to fit but screw it in and away she goes (remember to connect the speakers before screwing it in).

Yep forget putting speakers in the dash, they're too shallow.

There's plenty of room for a 6.5" speaker in the door as you can see. I know you said you dont want to put holes in the doors, but I seriously urge you to reconsider, it's pointless putting speakers in the dash. I wanted to do the same thing as you initially...

As for mods:

2.5" mandrel bent cat back exhaust
Some kind of straight through muffler. The Redback, Magnaflow and the Lukey LR2779 are probably the 3 most popular on here, I have the Lukey.
K&N Panel filter or pod filter if you want to go that path.

Then you can look into extractors, you'll probably have to get them custom made, as the only place that I know of that makes them, well let's just leave it at that I've had them, and have since been warning people about them since (and that was over a year ago when I first got them)

as killbilly said, dont bother with the 4" dash ones, there is plenty of room in the doors. I also had this problem in myne. THe 4" or 3 1/2" or whatever they are, are realy shallow so it would be hard to find a decent speaker with a shallow mounting depth. It is much easyer to chuck in some 6"'s in the doors, you will loose your side compartment thing but, unless you install the speakers behind it. I went with some decent splits for my doors in 6" and it sounded awsome. Much better than what any 4" could do.

if your not keen on cutting into the doors and want a factory look, then how about going to a wreckers and sourcing some verada front door skins.. they have a speaker pod in them which i THINK is 6"

He wants to replace the stock 4 " speakers so let him do it. I've done it, i've put aftermarket speakers in my dash and they sound great. You can fit any after market 4" in there, all you have to do is cut the little bit of plastic that goes accross the hole. Takes 2 seconds.

The TR SE should have come with central locking, but not REMOTE central locking.

I have put 4" kickers in my dash. just like what TR-Envy said, just cut the plastic inside to allow the magnet to fit in. they sound good enough.

cheers

Treble doesnt reflect very well (even off glass), it's very directional, 4" speakers are basically all high mids and treble. Putting them in the dash is nothing compared to decent 6" speakers in the doors. My advice was based on SQ as well as practicality.

from a wreckers.. not much, you'd trade the door skins you've currently got for the verada ones and just pay the difference

yes they do and yes it would :) but you would need to get the motors and everything for it which would cost a little more..

it would cost a little more for the motors and everything, but if you shopped around you'd pay bugger all for it.

Just so everyone knows, the speaker pods from the Verada screw straight on any door trim, be they electric window or manual. I have done it several times.

The pods you are after are either TR Elite, KR XI, KS EI or KS XI.

You will need to drill some holes but besides this that is about it. The door also has a large plastic pod for the speaker to screw onto as well if you need it.

LOL now that everyone wnats to do it the wreckers are just rubbing their hands on how much to charge hehe. I'd be interested in doing a power window conversion if it wasn't expensive.
