Can someone tell me from start to finish how to install a deck into a TR magna?

And prolly a TE magna?

Also how to replace a manual areial with a auto areial for a TE?

Thanks

I did my TF Magna, and have done first gen Magna's before. For a TF, if it's an auto,
How much detail u want?
-Ignition off
-Unplug ground lead to your motor(safety first esp when using expensive head units)
-Handbrake on
-Transmission to 2
-open the centre console compartment box
-Pull out the main centre console section (grab the end closest to the centre console compartment box and lift. It's only held in by clips, so its hard to do the first time but gets easier after that)
-Pull this right out.
-Pull out the ashtray fully, push down on the tab then pull it right out
-Next bit is tricky first time, You have to pull the rest of the ashtray surround out. Just gotta pull it with force. There are 2 clips holding this in from memory. These are located fairly central to the panel and on each side. Be careful as there is the cig.lighter ploom attached to this.
-Leave this dangling (on the steering wheel side out of the way)
-My memory is straying now, (It's late and I'm at work, not near my car)
So from now on I hold no responsibility for busted dashes
-I think there are 2 screws at the bottom of the remaining centre dash panel. unscrew these don't lose any clips.
-Pull the panel from the bottom (the tissue box holder) and the lot should unclip (once again very sticky first time) DON"T force it too hard as the whole aircon/heater controls etc are attached to this panel.
-There are two screws on top of the panel attached to the white plastic that makes the aircon/fan controls, Undo these HALFWAY, they only need to be loosened. Then the panel slides off. If you undo them they will fall down the back and be gone forever (I learnt the hard way)
-The panel should come off, unplug the ploom for the hazard lights (dont forget to plug it in later)
-The stock stereo player is held in by screws attached to a mounting bracket, undo these (bit of force rqd so use a big screwdriver.
-Pull out the unit with brackets, unplug everything.
-Unscrew the brackets from the old head unit. You will need the screws and brackets later on.
As for wiring check out this Mitsu wirings (http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Mitsubishi-Wiring.pdf) (unplug ur ground when working on the electrics, esp plugging in any rca's power leads, plooms etc.)
-U might want to make your own ground into the body as the stock stereo ground is fairly poor (just use the screw from the mounting bracket when you bolt it back on)
- After uv sorted out wiring and ur ready to mount it, hold the unit where u think it should go, and try and line up the holes with the bracket,
-Using the screws that went from the bracket into the old headunit screw in the brackets in the right holes for the new headunit so it mounts flush. You'll find them eventually. (Otherwise ul need to use the sleeve provided with ur headunit. I dont think you'll need to mount using the sleeve though, it's not too hard anyway)
-Once this is done, mount the bracket back on, (and the ground if you haven't done so)
-Test it all out. Pump it hard to make sure the ground is good. (it may cut out which will show a poor ground)
- Then do the reverse of what was sed before.

The cover frame for the front of ur unit may be hard to get back on. Just try blu tack or something...

Hope it helps.

Peace
