im not 100% sure cos its a weekend car, but everytime i fill up its not really nice to me. last time was 300km out of 45L, 15L/100k, later on i got the injectors cleaned and its gone down a bit. But its mainly thrashed, stop/start km. I'd say its more around 13L/100km now...maybe im just hopeful ;)
and its almost at 180... i havnt used it enough dammit lol, i guess its cos of the above ;)
oh yeha its an auto fuel sucking biartch
ive had mine like almost a year? i forget and i get 600ish to a tank, thats highway k's to work and then just a little cruising around, im nice to my car most of the time, dont rev it over 3000 but every now and again i might give it a stab but ive only redlined the car once since ive owned it and that was to get it to 100 in second, just touched the red.
My best fuel economy was 508km out of 56L which is about 11L/100km it normally does about 12.5km/100 and thats with the occasional rev to 3500 and doing 3200 revs, so i can do close to 100 up the hills :)
KM wise, I bested 650km out of a 74 litre tank, but it's usually 550km for 70ish litres.
Distance wise, it had travelled 171,190km when the dash was changed over to 247,550. It has now failed at 248,300.
The lower balance shaft failed catastophically, reducing the oil pump to very low, and destroying the lower timing chain. The engine was shut down immediatly, but there is extensive damage.
Reco goes in this week. I had planned to replace the chains on the weekend after next...

my fuel economy is about 10-12lt / 100km (carby). that is driving it like no tommorow (5000rpm shifts) with BP ultimate + 10% toluene which in total is about 102RON fuel + nitromethanol injection.
driving with 3000rpm shifts raise it a bit more to around 13lt / 100km. not much diff either way. its carby that says it all :D

my old TM GLX manual (carby) with 306,000km on odo used to do around 10L/100 in city, I don't dare to take it more than 2500rpm each gear shift as it's got a blown head gasket and if I do take it past 3000rpm, the cars behind me won't be very happy.... hehe <<SMOKE'N>>...
the good thing with 1st gens are that they are torquey down load, I take on in 2nd gear usually to save gear change. hehe.

fuel econ is about 10ltr/100ks as i shift gears between 3 and 5k rpm depending on the mood, i drove round all week once changing at 2.5 to 3krpm got about 12/100, mine has new rotor, cap, leads and plugs along with the efi/pcv cleaned and the cold air befor that fuel econ was crap about 8/100, should improve a little more once my extractors go on but moneys tight till after xmas now think ill fit the spare cat converter befor then its kinda hollow :D see how it gos like that untill the extractors are fitted
Pete
My fuel economy for the last two weeks has been beautiful!
I've not had to fill the tank once.

I have a Tp Wagon EFI Manual, and I drive it gently trying to maximise fuel economy. I normally
get between 8.5 to 9.5 L/ 100 km around town, and between 7 and 8 Highway at 110 km/hr
Hmmm maybe i should do an efi conversion
I get about 8km/L (approx 13L/100km)
