Well I've decided not to bother putting my JL 6x9s into my car due to the fact I can't be bothered and also because I find the stock ones fine for my audio listening.

Now I'm wondering if its okay to box the speakers and run them off the cd player in my room?

it is.. but you wont get much sound out of em.. Too much space compared to the cabin of a car..

That and home audio speakers are usually rated at 8ohm.. just make sure your home stereo amp is 4ohm stable.

Stick them under your bed or something so you get some bass. Or build a huge box :D

also because I find the stock ones fine for my audio listening.


Ummmm, I would suggest putting them in your car and comparing the before sound and after sound. You will see that your stock speakers are crap and probably like most people who have replaced them, you would probably kick yourself for ever typing that post. I also thought like you did until I heard the difference. Its worth the trouble ten times over if you ask me :D

Amen brother!! My car has some pioneer splits, and jvc 4way 6x9's running of the deck. My brother in law has amped splits, rears and subbies. My sister, wanting a peice of the action bought a new deck, amp and sub running stock speakers.

My system is pretty good. very pleasent to the ear. my bro in law's in ***in awsome to listen too. but let me tell u, my sisters sytem sound sh*|thouse. I cant listen to music in her car for very long. when you first get some decent speakers, you cant really tell the difference, but after a while, the difference is very dramatic.

Long story short - - - put the 6x9s in your car. NOW! :D

put them in your car, its dead easy and you won't regret it. i had a set of these in my first install and they go hard.
