Hi Guys,
Wondering if someone could tell me what offset I would need in order to make a set of 18x8.5 wheels fit correctly on my TH.
Has anyone here got any 8.5" wide wheels on their magna currently? If so, does anyone have problems with rubbing etc?
Currently looking at a nice set of rims, but obviously concerned with the width, so any help would be appreciated. Cheers. :P

Well, you did answer the rubbing question, but I kinda need to know the offset of the wheels so I can put that into some context ;)

I kinda need a 100% accurate answer on this sorry as if I buy the wheels I am looking at I need to know they are going to fit before I buy them, no good finding out afterwards they wont fit eh? :)

Take your car down to the place and try them on to see for yourself?

yep, all tyre joints will let you try them on to see if they fit, before you buy them. unless you're buying from the net.....

Thats it. So unfortunately, no try before you buy in this case. I gotta get me facts right before I purchase...

get them to send you some sort of written guarantee that it will fit (money back), and you should be right. thats what i did.

my 19s' are x8 wide, and i reckon they would ONLY just go under... i knew my 17x9's wouldnt go under the guards, but they were flush with the body :P

Hey there...
Offset for 3rd gens is 46 AFAIK...
anything above 40 will be ok i am told...
BUT.. with regards to the widths, i fitted 18x8s to my 3rd gen sports and the wheels stuck out about 20-30mm from the body... and these were wheels with 30 offset...
I'm guessing 18x8.5 with a higher offset will stick out more than 20-30mm??
yea so be careful.. i bought rims with the wrong offset and now i'm stuck with them...
or until i get my S15

Ego, if you want to SLAMM it, dont go wider than 8.5, or you will have to do some rolling.

i have 18 * 8.5" and they are fine, no rubbing etc. Although i have only lowered 3", and if i want to go more (approx 2" more) i think i may have to get the guards rolled as it will be pussing it (they might rub). But yeah, im not sure on my offest or anything but they work fine.

The back is already low, ive got the stock 17`s under the guards now. the prob is with the size i want they are mostly in 8.5 wide which im worried about when i load it up. with 2 people in the rear and a full tank the 17`s are a good 2 inches in the guards now..
