Pioneer is usually better than Sony, but without a price it's not as easy to compare.

Is there a reason why the choice is limited to only Sony or Pioneer? There are other companies that make much better 6x9's for a similar price to P & S. Eg:

Boston
Hertz
Phoenix Gold
Vibe

Etc

I wouldnt even consider anything but the pioneers, ive used them in my last 3 cars and they are the best value for money speaker, you will pay a little more for them but trust me its worth it, you will kick urself later if you buy the sony`s...

I always like to stick to what companies do best. Pioneer and Sony are primarily electonics manufacturers. This is a gross generalisation I know but I would recommend listening to brands that specialise in speakers. You may just be amazed at the difference.

To back up that theory; I have PPI speakers and really dont like them at all!! PPI make great amps though!

On another note I know that a lot of Pioneers equipment has gone down hill in quality recently. I'm referring in particular to their DJ gear. Used to be great when made in Japan........ apparantly labour and components are cheaper in Taiwan............

ROFL....

Tho i laugh, i agree. Some of the (if not all) jensens come with a chrome/bluish cone which has a slight wankish look, but jensens are probably the best 30 dorrah 6x9s u can get...good quality for less money...have u seen the cones fracture? :P

I got them of ebay for $92 Delivered around 6 months ago while they were still on sale at $159 at JB HiFi.

2 tumbs up from me. (but again its personal choice + what i can afford = I am happy) :D

yeah i saw them in a JB hi FI catalouge for $97 or $98. im looking at these ones beacuse i dont want a sooper dooper blow your ears out...deaf in a week system, also my mum is gonna get them for christmas(100 bucks closer to extractors/ mags :) )..and she wouldnt like spending a **** load more on them.
at the moment ive got no idea what ones i want. the generall feeling im getting is that pioneers are better. im pondering getting the sonys, if they are crap i could find some idiot who will buy them off me, only cause the magnet is bigger which i am told is better!

maybe i should get both, parcel shelf would look odd tho.

cheers all..SamBO
