The Pajero and probably Triton 3L and 3.5L engines are 6G72 and 6G74's yes? Most of these are DOHC, so why not bolt them straight onto the SOHC garden variety engines??

They may bolt, but those heads are most likely designed for torque and less power, which is good for trucks and 4WD's, but not for us.

I always strougle to wonder why people are trying to put various heads on their magna's.
First I think it was the bloody MIVEC DOHC heads on our normal cars now its a Pajero DOHC heads. Whats wrong with the origional SOHC head?

I know but I mean even if it were able to be applied to the normal SOHC engine.. you would need more than just the heads and for what you get out of it... I just dont know how this weighs up against potential cost..

Just had a look through the Australian Mitsubishi website, none of the petrol Pajero's or Tritons use DOHC heads.

Look at an old model 3.5 24Valve Pajero. The model just gone, with the beefy guards, im pretty sure has DOHC heads on it.
There is a fella that i saw on ACA or something like that that had made a Quad-cam per head v8. U should have seen thi thing. Monstrous. It ran smoother, quieter, cleaner and more efficient that some of the top V6's on the market.

Guess they could work but you'd need to check with MMAL to see that fitment isn't an issue.

ahahahahahaaa!! never ask them a question... aren't they the ones that told killbilly that his engine would NEVER fit? but ended up bolting up to the same engine mounts?

Only some of the NL (i think) Pajeros cam out with the DOHC motor. they were and still are more powerful than mine but, have been known to be more picky on they type of fuel used and also can be more expensive to service. No problems of course for what you are planning to do!

PS the cams in the pajeros and the ecu are different however, while they don't produce as much power they alos are a bit low on torque, nothing that a good aftermarket tuner cant fix though.
