Hey, I am sure this will be answered in no time, but this morning when I started my car and went to drive off the speed alarm started beeping at me at 60Km/h. Given it is always ever set at 120  I cant find any explanation (unless I had a very speed conscious car thief who kindly returned my car!)
I haven't tested the battery's charge, but I have had no indication that the battery is on it's last legs! It fires every time, first time. Just doesn't make sense
Any ideas? I have a base model 97 TF 3.0
Cheers in advance.

I had the same thing happen to my 98 TF exec awhile ago, never worked out why it happened, just one of those things i guess.

Only thing I could thing of is resetting ECU by taking pos and neg terminals off the battery. Leave disconnected for about a minute and put back on.
Hope this works
dont know Neil, check your battery terminals to make sure there isnt any of that corrosive **** around em.. If so, give em a good clean..
Also.. you should set your speed to 110.. youre breaking the law.. God kills a kitten whenever someone breaks the law...

Thanks to those who replied. I checked for **** around the terminals Bain and it was non existent. Maybe I will just put it down to a gremlin in the works and see how it goes, just hoping something isn't on its way out. I have another gremlin in the air con, I wish he would **** off! lol
Oh and I will drop my speed alert to 110 so I never break any speed laws!
Oh and Nafe this cat probably doesn't like you either...

You would have had to disconnect the battery or reset it yourself... (You don't sleep drive do you :))
Just hold both buttons down and turn it off... Thing is annoying and looks stupid. lol
Very unlikely there is anything wrong with your battery, if your battery kicks over the starter motor, it would have enough juice to keep ur cpu settings for weeks/months. Drain is very little from things like this.
Maybe you have electrical problems. A surge through the electrics when you started your car?? Something shorting out somewhere. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

...Something shorting out somewhere. I wouldn't worry too much about it. lol that sounded amusing
Yeah cheers, I wont lose sleep. I know you can turn it off, but twice now i have confused people who thought the time was 1:20pm and it brought tears of laughter watching them panic lol oh I have a sad sense of humour sometimes.

In my world... every road is a highway!
Nah, only joking, I don't know why I just don't turn it off really, I guess when I am doing 120+ I really know I am doing something bad! (at least I am honest!)

Once your Greddy goes in, you might as well paint over the speed alert! haha.... it might be a be annoying even set at 120, as i'm sure you'll be slowing down and speeding up on the freeway to test out your baby's new tune, yes, make it sing, yeah baby!!!
