how much dod you get for the ford ? we have one and thinking of selling it to buy one of those little 3cyl diahatsu things .. was it private or car yard sale also

TrMagnaElite
15-11-2004, 07:31 PM
private sale, i got $5500 !!

not much i know but i needed to pay off my loan,

the age says its market value was around $11,000 - $12,000

the guy who bought it got an amazing bargain, and i will seriously miss that car

we were thinking we'd be lucky to get 6000 ... it's not in great condition either unlike yours ... it looks 100% better than the one here ... we had a TR as well as the ford ... magna was good to drive but not as much fun as the rear wheel drive ford ... got some springs for the front if your interested ... drop it 30mm ... sell cheap cheap

VERY NICE CAR!
Cant help but notice it looks awefully familar :P. Also i hate you (not really :P) but you have the TS style boot garnish, I WANT IT! Gotta love that blue colour at night ey? Metallic blue looks awesome, if you wanna see what your car looks like with metallic silver 2 tone check out my cardomain site
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/638839
i reckon the 2 tone doesn't look too bad, you probably dont need to worry about it seen as yours is already 2 tone (looks good but i like the metallic silver over the grey look :)). If you do any visual mods let me know so i can see if i wanna do it and i'll do it vice versa, good luck mate!

Your car looks like a lighter blue, must be 2 shades of metallic blue then.

Mine is a metallic blue as well, just the lighter version. I'm not sure what the actual name is. I saw the non-metallic colour of mine, and damn its gross.

Yea you can do that yourself, just wire up a couple of globes to the holes or whatever youve got. Ive never done it, but always wanted to, it looks awesome.

As for my color its a dark blue, well its darker than "monarch blue" cause i have a little color touch up thing for monarch blue, that looks like nail polish and its actually lighter than my color. Cause i tried using it, and i now have little patches of light blue on my car

Or maybe i didnt shake it enough
Well its either monarch, or darker :D

Looks the same to me, ive always thought we had the same color.. But you always say you have a custom color?? Why get a cusom color of something that looks similar to stock?? Easier to get parts..
We need to meet up and compare one day!

Mine definately is Not the lighter blue, ive seen the lighter blue and hate it. Might just be the light relflecting making it look light in the avatar. You can see in the pic ive attached, its very very similar to yours.
Either that, or i really am color blind :P

No, I did it myself. I've PMed the info to so many people that the admins should make it a
sticky. In short, all the red lights at the rear (bar the centre highmount, which I learnt on
Friday was not allowed in Holland until recently) are both parker and brake lights. I replaced all
the single filament bulb holders for the red lights in the main rear light assembly to dual filament
bulb holders and wired them to the existing dual filament holders and also screwed dual filament
bulb holders to the inside of the plastic cover for the bootlid light housing and wired it to the
main assembly as well.

Hi Killbilly,

As I can't pm pics. I'll post them here for you to grab:

Instructions for addition/modification to the rear lights of 2nd gen Verada and 1st gen Elite/Verada XIs.
Items needed:
4 x dual filament bulb holder (21/5 watt bulb holders).
4 x dual filament bulbs.
some length of wiring.
6 x crimpers as seen in main_inside.jpg
4 x screws as seen in rear_inside.jpg
Some electrical tape or if you have the time, solder everything.
Steps for the boot mounted light assembly:
1. Remove the black plastic cover as picture in rear_outside.jpg by unscrewing the solitary screw.
2. Fit a dual filament bulb holder into position as shown (note that rear_inside.jpg represents
the left hand side unit). The holder needs to be tilted towards the centre of the car as shown.
3. Connect wires to the bulb holder and wire it down to the main light assembly of its respective
side. Best is to crimp the wires to the existing dual filament bulb holder in the main light
assembly. See below.
4. Fit a dual filament bulb in the holder and refit the cover.
5. Repeat for the other side.
Steps for the main light assembly:
1. Remove the main light assembly by unscrewing the three screws, removing the lining and lift
the tab at the bottom of the housing and pull it free.
2. Remove the existing single filament bulb holder (inner top corner) that is for the parker only,
screw in a dual filament bulb holder in its place, wire it up to the existing dual filament
bulb holder (outer top corner) and fit a dual filament bulb in the new holder.
3. Refit the main light assembly.
4. Repeat for other side.
