Mitsubishi has recalled Magna sedans and wagons including Veradas manufactured between 3/11/1999 and 21/8/2002 to fix a possible fuel line problem. Time to call your friendly Mitsu dealer.

Give it a couple of months, and I am sure they will!

They should recall all of the TL's for a front end change! :bowrofl:

The recall is for a possible problem with the bonnet, insulator touching a fuel line in the enginebay, as the insulator can hold moisture there could be a possible corrosion of the fuel line, nothing to serious

Yeah car companies make running changes during a model cycle eg two piece parabolics on TJ up to end of Nov 2000 one piece after.

However we know that already, ie the TJ 1 -> TJ1.5 -> TJ MY02

But within the TH series, there wasn't any changes being made that is documented, until now that is.

It may also be one supplier's contract finished, for that small part, and the new one took over (the one with a fault)

You dolt, "There is a possibility that the engine bay firewall silencer pad may retain moisture and if the pad is in contact with the under bonnet fuel pipe this may result in corrosion and eventual perforation of the fuel pipe causing a fuel leak" there is no problem with the bonnet insulator

i can just tell this is a stupid question but here goes.....

i don't have any warranty left on my car ('99 model) so if its recalled is it still free to fix or am going to be paying for the repairs?

be gentle lol

If your car is the model and manufactured between the given dates for this recall then your car will be inspected and repairs carried out if needed at no charge to you

I read the papers today knowing a recall. Called up Sydney Mitsubishi at Glebe and book a time, was told nothing to worry about, doesn't apply to my car. Was told "only happen to certain VIN no." When I just got home, I received a letter of the recall notice from Mitsubishi. I don't know why they didn't accept my booking, but I feel that they are trying to flog me off.... :(

Understand that every Tom, Dick and Harry would probably have hit up every Authorised Mitsubishi Dealer in the country today trying to get their car booked in. Imagine the timewasters and the paranoid wanting theirs booked in regardless, even though they are outside the recall. Just pop back in, with your letter, as your letter states and book it in. If they still try to dodge you then make a complaint, and send a copy to Mitsubishi.

Well, I gave them my rego, they said from looking up my VIN no. on their system, mine doesn't apply (2000 TJ). Nice lie I would say.

I have a TJ Series II build plate 09/02.

So I shouldn't need a recall done?

However moparcm ralliart's VIN range attachement suggests I do. As my VIN NO is:

6MMTJ8D422T050836

So what shoul I do?

Mate ignore those people who say it's got nothign to do with the TJ series 2 - my VIN is in the range as well and so it's going in on Monday.

Mines going in Tuesday next week.

I initially rang up about the problem, got transferred to the Marketing department (not great marketing if you ask me LOL). Gave them my VIN number knowing full well I was affected, the woman states that my VIN did not match with the recall. So I had to politely persuade her otherwise. Anyway, she calls me back and booked the car in. Apparantly they have got 700 vehicles in Hobart alone already and that does'nt include the ones who have'nt been sent letters (like me)

What my mitsu dealer is doing, is that they book the car in for 30 mins intially to asses the situation and then book it in a second time to actually do the repair if its required. Pain the wrong end if you ask me
