Hey there,
I average about 450kms to a tank, i live on the Mornington Peninsula so its not really stop start traffic, and its not really highways either. I've been told i need my injectors cleaned so this might improve the economy a bit.

That doesn't sound good, I can do more on my old 2.6 highway driving

wagon v6 i get about 380km to 45L that's the last lot of figures i remeber. regenial (newcastle/maitland) area driving, so it's a real mix, of city and highway.

Yeah i seem to get about 350k's city driving, but i don't completly drain the tank, i normally fill as soon as the red light comes on. I read in another thread you still had a decent amount left even after the light came on.
Highway seems alot better, i took a trip to Port Pirie and back which is about 300k's each way. Started with a full tank and i reakon i would have made it there and back on that one tank if i wanted to. But i put $10 in when i was almost back in Adelaide just to be safe.

This seems wierd
I get around 10 to 10.5 litres per hundred, so i can get 550kms out of 55 litres, mind you its a manualand thats a combination of city and country

I calculate the consumption for every tank because it's the easiest way to know if there is a problem.
Worst: 14.5L per 100km - the thermostat was stuck open so the engine was always on full choke.
Best: 7.5L per 100klm - highway driving with no a/c.
Average: 10L per 100klm (city & highway with no a/c) or 11L per 100klm (city & highway with a/c).
Mines a manual.

i get about 500km a tank in the city. I had my fuel injectors service and ever since. it have been using less petrol. Oh and that i driving with the air cond goning full tick.
veradagirl - did you get your injectors sonically cleaned, or just with a solvent forced through them?
I calculate my economy also... I use 1 litre per 7kms (bad economy!). Thats 350kms for a 50L tank. Also city driving (start stop) and 15 minute trips each way (home to work).
On the highway the best I have got is around 10km per litre (500km for 50L).
The car runs rich... I'm thinking of replacing my o2 sensor (even tho it does pulse OK), just to rule that out. Or possibly getting an Apexi SAFC-ii to correct the rich spots over the entire rev range. Could be an expensive excersize tho :(

94 V6 manual wagon, I never actually go till the red light comes on, a "full fill" for me is about 45litres, which supposedly means there should be 20litres left somewhere (people say it's a 65litre tank, but I'm not going to risk finding out!)
So from my rough observations, I get maybe 500kms from 45l for mostly highway driving (ie. a trip from Brisbane to Coffs Harbour), usually with aircon most of the way 'cause the gf wants it on.
For "around town" driving, again with aircon on half the time, might be 400-450km, depends.
My very rough guestimate is that it costs me about a buck per 10kms. But extremely roughly.

I've been tracking my last 17 fills as I'm sure that it's not running right. Range 10 -> 14.8l/100. Aircon seems to have added about 1l/100 as I can see my figures peaking in summer. My biggest fill so far has been 56l with the light on so there should still be fuel in the tank.
The majority of my driving is city so the 10 was nearly entirely freeway driving (535k for a 53.7l fill).

it is a 65 litre tank on most, thing the wagon might be 70.
most i ever got was 670 on a tank, with a few mls left in the tank, fill up was 64.44 litres, so i thinks i was running on a few fumes :P but mine starts to hiccup when it gets too low, i start losin fuel to the motor on hills and tight corners(goin quickish, fuels swishes around a bit) but yeh, all depends how i drive it, its a manual so i usually like to give it a bit in the lower gears,

Mine's manual, but coming onto a V6 I was very wary of fuel consumption, so I tend to use the highest gear possible, often going into 5th if cruising at 60 on flatish road. I forgot about it for a while and was using the power more, staying in 3rd etc., and I'm pretty sure it made a marked difference in economy. So I've gone back to being frugal, only busting out the power when I need it, or when some wanker pisses me off!
But I try to control myself.

YES i understand,
i sometimes do similar to what ur saying, from 3rd straight to 5th,
or even 2nd to 4th depending on the road,
but the car definately has the pulling power to go into 4th and 5th gears earlier,
but not too much cause apparantely (my dad was saying) if you let it go too low, you actually use more fuel than if you were in a higher gear, cause the engine is having to work harder to pull the car!! thats what he sais, i kinda believe him cause he has been fixin all sorts of cars for 40years he is mainly an auto electrcian(by trade) but he can fix anything on a car.
