Hey all.

Just got a couple of questions that im hoping you can all help me with.

1. atm my magna is stock as a rock in the engine department. im coming up to holidays very soon, and i was considering putting in a CAI setup since its something I can do myself without to much trouble. I've tried searching AM forums for any info on setting up CAI for the TR magna but can't find all that much. Should prob mention its the Astron 2.6ltr EFI motor. Also does it respond well to a CAI setup?

2. recently my cars be having issues when starting. It would turn over, the revs would drop and the car will shudder untill it dies or i turn it off. I hear a ticking/buzzing noise coming from behind the glove box from what i can tell. I pop the bonnet, and theres a small black cylinder thats bolted across the top of the firewall (will try and get pics asap) with a few leads going in and out of it. It looks to me thats what is making the ticking/buzzing sound. But the funny thing is that as soon as open the bonnet and turn it over, it works flawlessly. Can anyone actually tell me what it does, and how i can fix the problem?

welcome to AM mate... i have no idea about anything about 2nd gens.. olol... have fun!

a properly set up Cold air intake is benificial on any car. just make sure you don't run the piping too close to the exhaust headers.

As for the stalling. Could be you idle speed, or any number of things. Could jsut need a tune

As to your second query, it could be your Idle Speed Motor (or ISC) that could be playing up.

Idle Speed Motor? hmmm ... shall look into it.

I have done a CAI setup I will take some photos and upload them when I can.

hope ya dont mind me adding more quesitons to your thread mr puds.

only had my car for a few months now and i'm pretty keen to start doing some basic mods to it. if you haven't seen my car, i haven't a rather ugly nudge bar which has been bolted on through the front which means when i remove it its gonna leave two big holes that are gonna tick me off no end. looking at getting a diamante front but not sure of exactly what i have to get, just the front, or do i need other stuff as well?
