How can i find out if my altera is a TF or TH. The chick i bought it from wasnt sure if it was Th or not, but its a late 99 build. I am not sure of the month, but can find out. My VIN Number wasnt in the bracket for the recent recall, should that tell me its a TF?

99 is usually TH.. And not ALL TH's were included in the recall.. Quite a few members on here were not included and own TH's.

You can tell by looking at the rear high mount stop light. If it is at the base of the rear window it is a TF, if it is at the top of the rear window it is a TH.

Even the nose looks different. I'm not sure how, but I can tell by just looking at the grille.

correct me if im wrong, but cant u just look at the vin/chassis Number to see what model it is??? or is that too easy :nuts:

Yes Supiria is right just look at your Vin number and it will have TF or TH in there eg

mate, if its the one in your avatar, its a TH, the TF's didn't come in that colour, its called astral blue (sames as mine :D )

TH- cross hatch grill
TE- straight up and down

thats ok seaney im sure well all thought thats what u meant hehehe

a few differences i noticed was, on the TH the badges on the back are in the middle of the boot and the Magna badge in the middle is a seperate piece rather than letters imprinted in the strip and the front bar is the same as the ones off a TJ and the reverse lights are slightly longer there are a few more differences as well - one of my friends has a TF and i have a TH we've already compared differences :)
