View Full Version : Cruise control fuse

hey all. my criuse control was playing up and now it wont work. the lil light on the button comes on but thats it, it wont set or anything.... anyone know what this is? and also i looked in the book and on the fuse panel and i cant even find a fuse for it... anyone know where the fuse is?
its a 97 KE Verada xi

it may well be the safety circuit engaging spontaneously. Really the safety circuit disengages the cruise control if the transmission is not in gear, or the brake padal is pressed (or if the clutch is engaged for manual cars). The circuit really only involves several microswitches in each of those locations. Possibly one of the microswitches is engaging all the time.
My Criuse does a similar thing every now and then.
Like you said the light will come on on the switch but then when you hit the little tab on the wheel nothing happens... I had my steering wheel pulled appart to check all the connections and since then it has been all good. On word of warning though, be carefull if you decide to pull the wheel appart for once the air bag is off the SRS light is none to happy and this requires a visit to your local mitsi dealer to reset it.....

When I pulled my dash apart I carefully removed the passsenger airbag and put it aside. Once reinstalled the daash was all together the airbag was reinstalled but I didn't get the SRS light on that you are sayign, I wonder why?

when removing or working with any airbags.. make sure u disconnect the battery, and wait for a minute or so.. id rather a punch in the face by mike tyson that having an airbag let go on me while im working!
