This is a stupid question I am sure but I can't find an answer in any of the forums, and id rather lokk stupid and have a good sound system than act stupid and have blown rear 6x9's.
My new pioneer 6x9's don't have posative or negative markings on the wire connections. Do I just make a gues as to which wire goes on which side or doesn't it matter, as long as I do the same on both to make sure they stay in time. If I do the wrong way will it stuff them up?
I know...Iknow..... but have to find out...

I faced the same dilemma installing my pioneer 6x9's but I just assumed the smaller of the 2 tabs was the negative and it seems to be working for me... you have to be careful cos if you wire it wrong, all your music will play backwards... ;) lol
Anyway someone will surely answer this in no time flat... very silly of poineer I agree!!!
I've got pioneer 6x9's at the back. I'll check tonight and get back to you guys if someone else
hasn't done so already

Wire them up however and start the music on really low volume, if it puts music out its round the right way, if it doesnt swap them round and try again. If you do it at low volume levels, it shouldnt damage the spesaker.
Safer bet would be to wait for someone who knows to post.

Thanks vlad, that would be great. Also that assumption sounds like your on to something HyperTF, I would assume so too, but I can't say I even noticed a difference in size...Ahh well, I'll check when I get home to make sure there is. :)
Any more help on this topic would be greatly appreciated!

Will play music either way, as there is still a circuit there...
If you wire it up wrong it will only play out of phase (or backwards if you will;)). It cant cause any damage, just sounds weird. You get cancellation issues. But if there are no other speakers you will not notice any difference at all. It's a bigger problem for subs. But will give you better sq to have it wired up the right way.
Try a AA battery, and hook up a seperate wire to each pole. touch the wires against the speaker wires, and the speaker will move in or out. If it moves out, the polarity is correct. Positive wire goes to positive terminal. Neg to neg terminal (should work)
Peace
