it is possible to turbocharge any internal combustion engine in the world it just takes time and money.
And im not sure what boost it could take but the engine wouldnt last very long at all with fairly weak parts and a high compression ratio for turbo.

5-6psi the most really.. Your engines a bit old now so it wont be as strong as it was new.. If youre gonna turbo best thing to do is do a rebuild and strengthen your engine and lower compression.

Cant remember if yours is 4 or 6 cyl bomfunk?
4cyl turbos have been done before and proven to be a VERY effective power upgrade.
I havent heard of any sohc 12v 6g72 turboed motors.

short and sweet
sigma had astron motor
Tr had astron motor
there was a turbo sigma
buy turbo and turbo charge the motherf*cka
should be easy to get turbo and manifold and other shit if required
aparently sigma turbo gear is pretty hard to come across - i might call some wreckers.. BUT what about the ecu and fuel injection and that.. would it have to be modified?

pretty sure the turbo sigma was carby! eiwwwww!!!
but you should be able to use the manifold from the motor to the turbo then custom from there, i think (depending on availability) it should be pretty cheap upgrade! as long as you only run about 3psi so it's still reliable!?@!

My mate turbod his 4cyl TS pretty easily it fas fuel injected... Just ran a sigma turbo exhaust housing and then plumbed up the pipes from the air filter to the turbo and then back and into the inlet manifold.... he added an extra rail of injectors...
He sold the car and took it all off.... The complete until includeing exhaust is sitting in his garage.

back before mitsu bought out the chrysler plant they were going to supply the coppas with turbo sigmas. They gave them a couple to test out and they were running like 30psi boost! but they had had overheating probs like the bonnet melting!!
don't know how true that all is just some thing i read somewhere on the net

They actuall supplied about 10 to the NSW police... as H'Wy Pursuit Cars.
They were White and Black.
Only 500 Turbo Sigmas were made..
Each origional one as the number stamped on the Drivers side strut.
The Vin and Engin numbers have a X in them to show that it was a turbo.
The turbos where all 2l.
I have owned 3 and wrecked 3 :D of the 500 my friend (the one witht the kit) has owned 5.
The last one I owned We put a TN Magna Motor in ita nd turboed it... turning it into a 2.4l Turbo. The bigest prob was getting the Sigma inlet Manifold to bolt to the Magna heads... Then makeing up a sump with oil pick and return lines from the Turbo.
After I crashed it I pulled the motor out and Stuck it in the 2 Door GD Galant I have in the garage... Shanged it to a 5 speed and changed the Diff to a Scorpion one.
Ahhhhhhh the memories :)

Might even be an idea to have a look at some of the 1st Gen Turbos going around for an idea of what you might need to do, i know when i did mine i needed a custom manifold to be made, (i hear the sigma ones wont fit) and the cooling fan had to be moved for intercooler placement.
More info, PM me.
