ive had this problem for a while but only on start up for a few seconds then it developed into slipping under torque now when i start up the whole car shudders and when i put it into drive i cant go anywhere its as if its trying to go forwards and backwards at the same time :cry: please can somebody help me?

Id say a dead torque converter....

could be the clutch in the auto trans
seen that problem in a cordia i was looking to buy
under load the car shudders

but im not particularly mechnical

What about the bands in the box?
When the bands went in my old falcon it was like the cluch had gone in a manual :evil:

I have exactly the same problem. If im idoling in traffic its at its worse but a soon as i get moving it stops... Is it an expensive fix???
