Hey guys i got a 10 gauge wire going from the front (batt) to the boot where my amp is, what are the chances of me just joining a 4 gauge wire to it and yanking it all the way instead of pulling the car apart without the wire's plastic ripping and shorting everything? The previous amp wire wasn't wired through the looms on the floor just beside it...
Oh it's a TS magna btw!

chances are slim ... you'll have to pull out some stuff but not all you'll prolly find ... you'll be able to pull it through some things

That'll be pretty hard through the whole car Especially if it's been installed right the first time... Way too much friction to overcome and you could do damage if you short it, or damage your wire. Just do it the right way.
Put 0 gauge in... then you'll never have to worry about it again. :)
Bigger the better.
If you do pull it through make sure you disconnect it from the battery first

Thanks guys its already done, dame i hate pulling out the back seat.
would any of you know why my car revs so low now? 400 - 500 rpm used to be 600, feels shakier too, after i put the wire in!

yeh, its the ecu doing something after u disconnected the battery. as long as u can still drive around with no problems its ok. if, after a while, its still there, then maybe its something else
confused? i have no idea what i'm writing in my posts these days

Thanks guys, the wires weren't yanked, the ecu went back to its normal state the next day all is good.
any idea on how long i can run MTX amps for? it's a rt404 i'm trying to know if i can take it to the drive ins or not.
oh i bought the biggest battery there is as well, not sure what it is exactly though. hmmm.

Obviously depends how hard you're pumping them... With a new battery fully charged you will be able to do a movie easily...
Worst case just find out the hard way and get a boost. Don't start your engine repeatedly though, your starter motor uses heaps to kick the engine over. Dont leave air-con/heater on either etc...
In drive-ins there is very little ambient noise to overcome too, so you don't need to have it as loud as you would in the road for good listening.

dont forget to upgrade the -ve wire from the battery (to the body) to 4 ga as well.

Yeah thanks mercury, it's all done, i'm not touching the car anymore i don't care if the whole system blows up too much effort to go through all this again,
