View Full Version : Disconnectin battery too often?? any problems with it?

hey guys

i was wondering if any thing could go wrong or i could have problems with disconnecting my battery heaps, my car doesnt get driven much as im on my L's and im learning in my mums car due to mine been defected. It sits in my driveway and i start it every now and then, but when its sitting there i disconnect the battery otherwise it goes flat, will i have any problems doing that all the time, its a '89 2.6 EFI TP elante.

any help or advice would b great

No, though you might need to crank the car over, and run it occasionally.

No. The only "problem" you might have would be if you have a Trip Computer, or decent HU... & even then, it'd only be that you'd have to reset you your settings every time.

So long as you do it properly ie. don't be clumsy enuff to short Active to Neutral or body with your tool, you won't have any problems with not having power there, & it'll be better for the battery in the long run not getting run flat.

Make sure you run your air con for 5 minutes or so every week/fortnight. Keeps them going forever.

yeah good, custom manifold is finished, turbo has been rebuilt ready to go, chasing some 1G-GTe injectors now, and a aftermarket ECU. let u all know when she is done
