Hi,
Recently my TR Magna had the timing chain go for the third time, causing me to get frustrated enough to give the thing away (literally). Since then I've set my mind on a replacement car. After promising myself that I'd never own another piece of crap Magna again my weeks of research have ended with me deciding that a TJ S2 or MY02 Advance is the best choice...funny how things work out :)
Anyway - I've been spending a lot of time reading through these forums and picked up some good tips, I gathered that the two things to look out for are dodgy electric windows and squeeky windscreens. Now, although the electric window faults people report are a bit of a concern, I suppose for the balance of the new car warranty that'll take care of itself. My question is, if the car that I pick up (It'll be ex government) hadn't had the windscreens sorted out during the recall period and I find that they need attention, is that something that would definitely be fixed under warranty or will that really depend a bit on whether the workshop that I take it to feels generous? I guess the same question applies with any other recall action that wasn't checked out during the recall period...is the oportunity lost if the problem wasn't looked at when the vehicle was serviced?
I guess my main concern is not to suffer the pain I had to go through with my TR (several thousand dollars worth of fix-ups in the last couple of years).
Cheers,
Lindsay
