a quick one, does the magna carb have idle adjustment for fast idle and seperate idle adjustment when engaged in gear (wondering here).

i only can find one screw, and its set to 1000rpm (when engine is warm) and in neutral. on cold start up the choke goes up to about 1500rpm and stays open for an approriate time.

when enagaged in gear say D, it idles 650-700 (auto tranny). i dont mind that lowish idle, but i dont see how people can set there fast idle (while in N) to the recommended 800 +- 50rpm (for autos), my car would surely stall when it engages in gear ie prob drop to under 500rpm.

heh hot days turn on aircon it doesnt stall (has once tho) idling about 550rpm, aint the air con suppose to increase revs slightly to compenstate. im gessing some vacumm leak or valve for the aircon compressor.

you'll find a small diaphram activated thing which just taps the throttle open a little for when the aircon is on. and a vacuum switch for the line connected to it so it can engage or disengage.

yup found it.

checked the vacuum switch - works, checked the diaphram works. i switched on the aircon watching to see if it would move - it did, BUT it wasnt moving the throttle at all so i adjusted the screw there and all good now. works nicely.

made it raise the rpm by 80-100rpm when aircon engages. no more low idle :D
