I know this topic was sort of discussed but i guess i want a bit more of a diffinitive answer, i had my car go in for her 90-100 000k service yesturday (courtesy of revelstone2's service dept :P ) and had the friendly man behind the counter call me up and tell me how much i had r**ted her... *my bad* . Any how getting to the point one of my engine mounts is busted and i remember seeing the thread on polyeurowhatchamacaly mounts but when i read the posts it wasnt very informative, if its worth it ill just get the whole lot done but i guess i was just hopein to get a bit more info!
Cheers guys

i'd get the other two looked at pretty closely!! i did one of mine (the top one) and the car was jerking around like a mofo (i have a manual) if you weren't careful with the clutch. I had it replaced (standard type) and it helped a lot, but the others are definately still not happy! If i had the money i woulda got the others replaced at the same time... then they all wear together!!

I'd get them all done at the same time if possible, but that does become very expensive quickly. Apparently poly ones aren't all that great, but there's a lot out there that will support them and a lot that will put them down. I guess you can only find out by one way...unless you can find someone on here that has had them.
I got my front and back replaced at hte same time as the sides were fine. Just with plain rubber

What do you use your car for?
TRACK, STRIP = POLYURATHANE
EVERYDAY DRIVER = STANDARD

I bought my manual TF in Febuary of this year, the top engine mount looked in top condition (no fracturs or stress marks). By june it was falling to bits, bits off rubber just hanging there (while I drive my hard sometimes, I don't thrash it so it shouldn't have failed so quicklly).
I had the mount replaced soon after and the guy that did it for me said that the stock units wear out quicklly due to a design flaw, I put it down to them being originally designed for an automatic transmission (Diamante) and not designed to take the extra stresses of a manual. The unit he replaced the mount with is supposedlly a modified version of the stock units and is supposed to last allot longer. So far it still looks brand new, and I havn't changed my driving style, so far so good :P

I was told my rear engine mount was torn ???? is that the one next to the firewall ???
Any how, can that make your car vibrate bad while driving ????

The rear engine mount is the one that bolts to the crossmember/subframe, Also for clarity the front engine mount is on a bracket that bolts to the chassis rail at the front, the RHF is on the gearbox and bolts to the chassis rail and the LHF is on the ancillary side of the moror and bolts to the left chassis rail Hope this helps
