View Full Version : Rear brake squeek while cornering at low speed
I've tried a search for this as I've got a feeling its been covered before, but to no avail.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has a squeek sound coming from the rear end while cornering at low speeds? It seems to be progressivly getting worse.
Also wondering about grounding the engine? I know someone who has ran a ****load of wires off the engine block of his VTEC Integra to the chassis apparently grounding it, and giving it slightly more power. Is this a load of crap?

As for the squeeking in the rear brakes. Is most likely the drum brake(park brake) pads not releasing properly which is very common in most new australian cars. Usually more in commys and falcons. Easiest way to try and fix it assuming that your hand brake isnt over tightened which isnt usually the case is to jerk the hand brake up and fown a few times while driving it and hopefully releasing the stick.
As for the grounding, i honestly wouldnt know but i very highly doubt that it would make any difference at all. i'm sure it wouldnt. If it did, then i'm sure all the car makers would have already done it for the power gain. Sounds dodgy to me.

if not then i think its 90 for 1
not a serious problem
just highger fuel comsumption and fast break disc wear
Yeah the handbreak isnt nice and gradual when you pull it up.
its sorta nothing, nothing, nothing, BITE. Same as when rolling backwards slowly.
I've noticed when doing hand break starts too, the car rolls back abit then it grabs.

yes, parts and labour are covered under warranty, if the vehicle is in the warranty range, i.e: under 3yrs/100000kls, 5yrs/150000, 6yrs and so on.. depending on what warranty plan u had!
