drving home hit some bump in the road got a thud didnt think too much of it,
keep driving some one pulls up next to me telling me i got stuff coming outta my car, i pull over wat to see,
my fuel tank has A HUGE HOLE knocked out of it

dammit now i gotta find me a new petrol tank

Today i dropped off my lil sis to high school half asleep.. half hung over... did a u turn... and because of the brilliant Turning circle of the magna.. ended up having to reverse while in the middle of the road... anyway Missed reverse stupidly and put it into third and drove UP the curb... SCRAPE!!!!! nothing broke but still... anyway yeah thats pretty bad! how the hell did that happen? what did you hit to do that!

my last car (1st gen magna) was crashed doing 5km less than the speed limit going around a corner, it slid on a small amount of gravel that was on the road and i oversteered to correct it and the car slammed into the gutter and landed into the middle of the road. my axles and all were bent and my gears were shot, my left hand front tyre had a huge ding in it and the car made a horrid metal on metal scraping noise and sparked as it was dragged off of the road, my wheels wouldn't even rotate. its weird how even when doing speed limits some freaky style accidents can occur, but in both my case and yours, at least no one was hurt, that is the main thing.

There's scrapes running the whole length of my undercarrage from rough roads, and I've managed to bend in my centremember on a level crossing...or was it the pothole?

I really should move to NSW, then I'll have an excuse for the crap roads I travel down.

yer or if the duck tape doesnt work i heard a cut n polish doesn wonders on hard dents just sand around it dont forgot the putty should look like new :think: :slap:

cut and polish won't work, its got a hole in it doesn't it? i think i read it correctly. and won't the fuel just eat through the tape? im just wondering thats all.

could just plug it up with a good pit of plastic that wont stuff up from petrol and then weld on a piece of metal over the top

my mate had to have his tank replaced after getting a "Professional" install his stereo system, they decided to place the earth under the back seat, found there was no bolt there so they drilled a hole.....straight into the fuel tank :nuts: anyway to get that replaced i think he said it cost around $800ish...i think

now i just gotta wait till my mate gets home with his mobile mechanic van so we can change it over

daaaaam, that has to be some karma for your a$$ cause ive never heard of someone splitting a tank open before, they'd have to be made really strong so what ever it was it gave you a nice fat whack in the guts thats for sure, any other part of your car damaged?

any who bought another tank for $120 the $95 one was dodgy and all rusted

putting it in tomorrow, still just another hassle i didnt need
