Hi Guys,

I'm just about to (pending finance) get a 2003 Magna VR-X, and I was wondering what some simple, low cost performance boost options would be? Are there any shops around Perth or mail-order which carry parts for use in this model?

Thanks in advance.

By boost I guess you mean improving n/a performance and not turboing?

A few simple things to get you going will be cold air induction (THSmoker makes a very nice kit for this), extractors.

If I were you .. I will let the engine run in a bit first before making any modification...

Powerchip would be good... but a little bit costly...

Yeah, don't want to go down the path of Turbo (just yet).

It's really new, so I wouldn't be doing anything right away, it's only done 10,000KMs and is a factory demo. But i'd like to start getting a list of things together that I can work on once i've got some time and money :)

I wouldn't do any mods so soon, except switch to Synthetic Oil (not really a mod) and a K&N panel filter.
Run it in for a while and make sure it goes well. Maybe some subtle cosmetic mods or audio system.
Congratulations on the purchase, just make sure you make those payments cos loans can be a youknowhat.

Definately will do, any idea when the next one will be (approximately)? Also, who stocks K&N Filters in WA? I've read up on them after you dropped the name, and they look like a good idea.

Well, I decided on the one I wanted.

2003 Mitsubishi Magna VR-X. Just over 10,000KMs on the clock. Red Colour.
It's basically stock standard.

I suppose my next question would be with regards to some info that's on the main web site. I don't think that changing the air filter would class as modifying the vehicle would it? Does the dealer and/or licencing need to know? I wouldn't think so, but i'm just asking :)
