Hi i am a newbie but have been viewing the forums for a while now and have seen that a few people have tried fitting the digital dash but i have not seen where they have got all the instruments working well it is very easy to do its a matter of two wires and they can use the fuel sender from a analoge dash it is quite simple to do, also i have a t3 turbo from a 1980 sigma GH turbo car that is quite simple to fit as well

what type of gains did you get from the turbo? also how did you work around the turbo as isnt it designed for the carbys not efis or doesnt it matter?

sagna, welcome to the forums :D
sagna: id like to know how u went with fitting the sigma turbo on. did u get a custom manifold made or did u graft the sigma manifold on? also, wat sorta price range are people looking at for this sort of mod, if u dont mind me asking :)
mad: a turbo is a turbo. its the carby that is designed for the turbo not the other way around.

Thanks every one will get some pics as soon as i work out how to??
the sigma turbo was easy to install, the exhaust manifold from the 2l to the 2.6l is the same the only trouble i had was the wastegate because coming from back wheel drive to front wheel drive the wastegate is on such an angle that it hits the engine mount so all i done was got some 2" pipe then made 2 45 degree angles or there abouts welded them together got 2 round flat bits of steel the same size of the exsisting clamps welded them on both ends of the angle and thats what holds the wastegate on, then where the exhaust pipe comes from the turbo it goes on the other side of the engine mount i welded a 2" flange just below the gearbox then the other side of the flange was welded to come back under the cross member to follow the path of the existing exhaust, the pipe from the filter to the turbo is flexible aluminium pipe to get the bends right, the pipe from the turbo to the throttle body is 1 1/2" exhaust pipe bent to the angles to go across the rockercover to just before the throttle body i got some pipe round like a donut that was the same size of the throttle body flared the 1 1/2" pipe to somewhere close then welded the donut and pipe together all up was about $150 to do, as my son upgraded his sigma turbo motor to a imported 4g63 cyclone motor he is such a good lad said i could try fitting the sigma turb on the magna so that saved the cost a hell of a lot

explain... you saying the analog sender unit can be used with a digital dash?
if that is so, that'll save me heaps of time trying to get the sender unit out of my leaded tank (leaded magnas dont have electric fuel pump - so they are different)
Yes. I too would be interested in how you got your fuel sender to work with the Digital 1.
For the record, mine did operate instrument wise, except the fuel guage.

jaycar digital -> analog circuit to suit. probably find it would only be about 10 bucks worth.

the dash that i put into my 88 elante was from a 85 tm elite so i can only talk from a 85 to 88 the reason for the fuel gauge not working is the analoge dash has the low fuel light and that is where it gets its earth from while the digital dash gets it from the sender all you have to do is connect the (yellow (blue trace) wire to the yellow wire from the sender and thats it the only thing is that when the tank is empty the gauge reads full and when the tank is full the gauge reads empty, so since i never did see the sender from the 85 elite i assumed that the wire going to the sender started at the other end?? (of the coil of wire) in the sender so what i have done is since you don't need the low fuel light from the analoge gauge any more. on the sender you will see a 2 wires --- you have to take the sender out to do this --- one of the wires go to the sender (the coil of wire) and the other goes to the low fuel light i cut the wire from the low fuel light and soldered onto the other end of the sender the (coil of wire) and the original wire to the sender i just cut it off so you don't get the wrong reading and thats it i have done the mod since april and all is still working fine
