I am looking at getting Scissor doors / Lambo Doors on my TF for the front only just wondering if you think it would look ok or gay?

Hell if ur gonna get em itd be mad... But how much will they set you back?

the only thing i need to change is the door hinge as it opens 10-15cm then swings up. i got quoted 1000 for the two doors but because i am doing it with a mate on his hilux :nuts:

what if your driving, it would easier than normal doors seeing as they open upwards. will scissor doors anyway. i guess lambo doors could become a problem.

why's that? the doors go out like 20mm and then tilt upwards. they'll take up less room in a carpark than normal doors....he's not talking about doors like on a Delorean which swing out and up.

$1k is way cheap. I would do it for that price alone.

I suppose it is easier due to the pillarless door design of the Magna.... less problem with the top edge of the door.

For ideas, if someone has pics of that orange magna at the front door of Final Battle at the weekend, post that.

another problem would be, who do you think will be able to install this kit arround launceston? you have to buy the kit, then get it installed,

im sure there are plenty of other ways to spend the cash that would get more benifits.

I am going to go ahead with the front doors and will look at doing the back doors the same way aswell. 4 doors.. Will do the 2 front first then the back if i can do the back. cant c y not.

OMG...first time I have read this thread...a Magna with Lambo doors....GO FOR IT!!!!!Nobody else has done it, it will be unique, it will get attention and who knows, it might lead to bigger things such as promotions and sponsorship. Forget the goonbags here knocking it, do it, post it and really what it all comes down to is "enjoy it". :thumbsup:

Obviously, the best advice is if your going to do this, incorporate it with other mods too, because realistically, lambo doors on a stock magna would look odd, but, in terms of functionality, I would take a set even if they looked crap. They are good, no doubt about it. Go for it. :cool:

yea go for it, i guess not having a long doors of a 2 door coupe will make it not look as nice as a lambo but then again not many cars can top a lambo and they cost a sh!t lot ,,seriously, dump the ride and have suicides for the fronts and the back would look crazy! :cool:

The magna is too tall to pull it off, even the cars on that site look funny as hell! Looks the bloody things are about to take off LOL.
ANYWAY, if you like it then go for it, there's always going to be people who hate it, there's going to be people who like it, so just do it if you think it looks good!

IF you go ahead witht he convertion, make sure that you re-inforce the areas where the hinge connects the door with the body as over time this will end up sagging, you will then have problems closing the door properlly and possible leaks due to seals not lining up propperlly. The hingers stay were they are one just gets rotated 90* abd the other gets a gas shock atached to it there is no added weight to the door a little more but not enough to worry about.. PS i just got my new king springs today pulled them out the box and they look verry short how many CM tall should they be. the bigger ones is the wider ones are shorter by about 25mm

Wings would be crap for just the front, unless you do suicide doors and wings on the back too opening backwards.

but if your just doing jsut the front save your money thats what i think, cos when you have all the doors open at the same time, people like me will think you've run out of money to do the full job.

oh yeah by the way, the reason rolls royces have suicide doors is to get rid of the door column for media photographers to take pics of whos in the back seat, if your gonna do a proper job then you better find a better way of bracing the car's roof so your doors can open without being squashed!
