starter motor i think is the problem when i turn the key the car will start as good as always but it makes a terrible crunching sound when the key is turned as soon as the engine kicks over it stops nyone had this kind of trouble before in a 1st gen magna

sounds like its bearing have gone...
need a new starter motor...or get urs rebuilt. price...i got no idea.
get it done asap befor u get stuck somewhere!

Try check your starter motor bolts, mine done the same thing, a year later when i changed engine's i found the starter motor just hanging out missing one bolt and the other on its way out, and the thing's still kicking lol

i think the early magnas, tm, tn, etc had plastic gears in the starter motors.. shocking things! not uncommon to sh!t themselves.. prob a stuffed started motor!

its all good luckily my dad got a remanufactured starter motor for 40 bucks a few months ago cost 50 bucks to fit all is good now

No. The gears were metallic. ***** of a location, though.
