Nope. I didn't get a chance to drive the blasted thing. It was idling at my folks place, so we could find out why it was running on 3 cylinders.

Gav, where is it actually blowing the headgasket? is it between cylinders? between coolant passages? Give me some details because they can mean different things. Check my reply in the other thread of yours about placing bets, i feel the specifications ACL give are wrong.

Have you had the head checked to make sure it is level and straight? are you reusing head bolts? are you applying oil to the thread each time? are you cleaning both contact surfaces (get out the wet n dry and give it a rub)? also, there is a product you might want to use, it is like a gell that is used to help seal headgaskets (stops them moving), it comes in a little tube, i use it on every engine i do now. Ill get the name of it if you want, all you do is rub it on the contact surfaces and place the gasket down on top.

lol, my old TP had a blown head gasket - i think, it used to push bubblesd back throught the radiator - but it never lost a drop of water, no water in the oil, no oil in the water - even ran at normal temp, and idled smooth too....doesnt make sence does it?..anyhow..ha ha...i just left it alone, drove it round for 2 years like that....then traded it on what I have now.......poor sucker of a car yard - they dont check the cars they are trading enough!!....

I wouldnt recommend driving it round for 2 years though, i only did it cause it simply wasnt hurting the car

The first one was changed by the wrecker who provided the motor. The second head blew, cylinder 1, straight out, missing all oil and water jackets. It was tested, and was porous.
Now, got another head...

You just got a new head? or you got a new head and it has blown again? You didnt answer my other questions though, using the same stock headbolts still?
