hey guys,
my verada currently has Ferado pads in the font... it stops well... even at the most critical times... however the new rotors in the past year I've had to get machined 3 times.... which to me is a bit ridiculous... is it common for the magna's to do this so often? or is it the pads?
if so what pads?
thanks :D

Magna rotors are terrible, very cheaply made and possibly the worst part of a good car.
My recommendation is to stick to the same brand of pads as they're quite good and get better rotors.
Go for some DBA slotted rotors and you will find you wont get the problems anymore.
Stock magna rotors warp very easily and machining 3 times in one year is not uncommon

Heya's
I have a 1996 TS V6 Magna Executive (same shape as Basstrom) Have had it since brand new! I have only had the rotors machined twice! My current brake pads where fitted about 2yrs ago, ive never had that problem with my rotors! If its common to get the rotors machined very very often, well my Magna must be the odd one out.... Cheers

hmmmmm why not just use metal kings to machine your pads yourself while driving, it'll keep your pads flat and it'll chew through your rotors too, but fingers crossed, my DBA slotted is still going strong with metal king pads for 10months now. I like the bite!

hey basstrom, i have had to change one set of disk rotors , i done this at about 100,000k
i put on crossdrilled and ventilated disk , the car stops on a dime , but i must say it allways has had good brakes , i have thought of upgrading them , but again i have not had a car with better brakes than this one , also just another querry you should have brake warners on this car that start to make a noise as not to cut into the disks , and the main question is , i only use the brake pads mitsubishi supply dont know what brand they are but they work well and i get good life out of them

I warped the stock rotors so upgraded to slotted rotors. I have now warped these also, so i'm not sure which brakes i'm going to get now to prevent this. DBA says that i'm braking too hard on them, but that's why i bought them in the first place.

podrcr, it could also be that your wheel nuts aren't done up evenly, this can cause warped rotors as well
