how do u remove the stock air box to change the filter element?
when i undid the top two metal clips, the front snokel is still attached at the bottom by a bolt, so should i remove this bolt? also the bolts holdign the snorkel behind the grill are slipping (ie. no way getting them up)

You sort of crack it like an egg when you unclip it, open it part way at the top and pull the filter up and out, should be relatively easy with a bit of a wiggle. Hold both sides of the filter to make it easier.

Not sure what model you have but on mine you have to flick up four latches on the side of the air box and you can lift the cover easily

ran the car without the filter, the induction noise sounds like gas leaking from the stove, ahhaha, much much smoother idling without the filter, i guess it must be the dirty filter.
vaccumed it and put it back in
how much will an oval K&N + oval adaptor combination cost?

i think the oval k&N filters are more than $150 and i have no idea about the adaptor.

Don't go the Oval K&N, go for the replacement panel. Should be $110 and you just drop it in like a standard throwaway filter. Breathes heaps better at high RPM, but there's some problems with the K&N's - Read this thread first! (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12089)
Unless you are going for the Cold Air kit as well, the standard airbox is fine. Keeps the cops at bay too (no way officer, she's bog standard sir!!!)
