Hi all,
Can anyone help with this problem? We've installed a new stereo into our '99 Magna. Stereo works fine but all dash lights are now out. Two wires that were previously connected to old eurovox stereo and appear to be connected to all dash lights but they now have no nowhere to go on new stereo. Tried connecting them to each other to complete circuit - no good.
Car out of action now - no more energy to fit it all back into the dash & take to the professionals!
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Seems like you have blown the fuse for the dash lights. Check that no wires are loose or shorting, then check all fuses and replace any that are blown.

Turn your parkers on and see if your tail lights come on, if they dont then you have thrown a fuse thats it. simple test as the tail lights(not brake lights) and dash lights are on the same fuse...

Yep uv blown a fuse, it would have happened when you connected the two wires, one was probably the illumination wire or you might have grounded it accidentally.
Check your fuse box.
Disconnect all wires that arent needed for stereo, cover ends with electrical tape.
Replace the broken fuse with same size fuse

Yep sounds like the common "Oops i grounded the dash illumination wire" error. Just tape the contacts up for that (and any unused wire) and replace the fuse just as s_tim_ulate said.

Thanks everyone - much appreciated! It was the fuse under the bonnet, had checked those in the dash fuse panel.

Hey Guys,
I just changed the plug over for the trailer plug. And my dad accidently touched two wires together and WHOOPS, gone were the tail lights, parker lights, dash lights and door/light warning.
After testing every bloomin fuse in the car.. I gave up, spat the dummy and came inside and decided to check the forums, Low and behold this string was here. It tipped me off that the dash and tails were on the same fuse. AND that it was under the bonnet.
so FIXED.. thanks guys.. the silver bullet lives to fly another day...
Cheers
