I'm trying to decide on what stereo to get (currently have stock tape deck  ) so i would appreciate thoughts on what to go with. I'll be using the Pioneer Head Unit no matter what speakers i end up choosing, unless someone can suggest a better one :D .

Choices are Infinity Speakers or Pioneer Speakers.

Specs:

Infinity 4" 2 way
- 50 watts nominal rating (RMS)
- 150 watts max. power rating

Infinity 6 x 9" 3 way
- 110 watts nominal rating (RMS)
- 330 watts max. power rating

Pioneer 4" 2 way
- 25 watts nominal rating (RMS)
- 110 watts max. power rating

Pioneer 6 x 9" 2 way
- 80 watts nominal rating (RMS)
- 330 watts max. power rating

I've got to get an amp as well so not sure what to do there, most prob go on advice of guy at store.

And i know i should go for 6" for the fronts but its just easier this way.

Options are:

Go for the pioneers. With amp and installed i got quoted around $1600.

Go for the infinities (anybody heard of these before?). With amp and installed i got quoted around $1300.

Here are the pioneer and infinity links if you want to see more.

I kinda like the pioneers i have them in my car, they are quite loud with no distortion - especially for their cheap price!

Jolly good, pioneers lack some bass, i need a subbie bad. it's cheap, it's alright, you're not paying for the world...

A sub, even a cheap sub will dramatically improve your bass. 6x9's arent designed to get near the frequencies a sub can. If you can install a cheap sub, with a bit of power, even cheap little audioline amps, you will hear a world of difference. Especially if you can somehow high pass (block low frequencies) your other speakers, so they dont distort. This can be done through many aftermarket headunits or amplifiers, if you dont want to get too technical.
