Hey all,
I just wanna know how you have installed your front speakers.
Did you move the map holders? did you put them straight into the doors? Did you use pods?
BTW i have a TS Magna.
Cheers guys

k I always recommend using at least mdf spacers to mount your speakers.
I've done first and thrid gens but nothing in between, so I wont be too much help to you. the 3rd gens already have a slight mounting angle in the factory locations, and fit 6.5" and 6" as standard.
Now making pods isnt too hard. There heaps of tutes on the net. Basically you want to buy two mdf spacers for each side. Make a few small blocks out of watever you can find, insert them in between the spacers to make the required angle, then fix these using adhesive. Once dry, cover with material to make a nice smooth surface, then cover with fibreglass on the inside skin and outside skin ( to overcome the warping effect on each side) sand out the middle to make a nice mounting position for your gear.
attach to door trim from inside out. then attack to the door itself by mounting screws around the baffle from inside out as well.
Confused??? Me too...
Peace
Tim

Iv got the same magna as yours and I installed some Alphine splits the other day, the door panels have holes in them to fit up to 6.1/2 inch speakers in but I recommend getting spacers then it sounds fine

I was thinking of doing this, i may still be doing it seen as my parents have changed their mind about me getting a new car AGAIN, ANYWAY, i was thinking of making door pods out of spacers, or i heard the KR/KS verada door skins had door pods built in, so you could source 2 from the wreckers? i havn't tried looking yet though.

They have holes in the framework but not in the door trim, i dont really want to cut a whole in my door trim. So i'm probably going to just take off the book holder thingy, and stick a 4-5inch deep pod on top and drill a hole for the wires. That is unless i find a better spot to mount the woofers, any ideas? i was thinking maybe under the front seats or in the foot wells? but then its too big in the foot wells for the driver side hmmmm.... Anyone got any ideas?
