Close your windows.... :)

Check ur doors...
Just open them right up, ul see a small hole underneath the door, it may be blocked.

So ur doors are filling up then flowing into the car. Heaps of water gets into the doors wen it rains.

Thats my bet...

exactly the same thing happened to me when i first bought my car. There was a broken grommet or something way up on the left side of the firewall, which meant rain came trickling down and settled in the passenger footwell. Go pull your carpet up again, go park under a sprinkler, and you will see where its coming from.

I went to a smash repairer who took some panels off, found the problem and sealed it up, for $100.

YES I HAD THIS DAMMIT

its the seal on the window where some one has got out of the car and knocked it out,
had to put it back in properly so that it was fully clicked in

my car smells

It is possible for water to get in through the windscreen. If the seal on the screen is damaged in someway, water can flow in from the edges and down the A-pillar, behind the dash and into the footwell.

As Tim_E said, pull your carpet up, stick a sprinkler on the car and see if you can see where the water is running into the footwell and trace it back to where its coming in...
