HEy all,
i just pulled the dizzy cap off my car because the car is coughing and spluttering under acceleration once it is hot and over 30% acceleration.

Now there was a bit of carbon build up on the points which i scraped off and gave it all a wipe with some fine emery paper. Now under the rotor cap in one point in particular there are a lot of scratches which i assume is from the points arching or something along the lines of that.
Is cleaning the points enough or should i go grab a new rotor cap?

are you sure they aren't cracks? Change it anyway they aren't expensive these days and they're more trouble than hell when they play up.
