i think that my boot release cable snaped or has come off its lever or something, all i know is i went to open the boot and the lever came all the way up and nothing happened.
so if it is snapped how much to get a new(or second hand as i'm a tight ass  ) cable?

Try a wrecker, or I'm pretty sure you can get them through Auto 1, Repco etc

You may have flicked your boot, child safety lock. I have only got the dodgy set of valet keys, (that opens doors and ignition)
Once i flicked the switch and couldnt get into the boot at all. Had to get my mates little brother to crawl into the boot through the ski port to flick the switch.

Yes, the boot cable has a design flaw. It tends to let go from the leaver. To fix it involves having to remove the driver seat from the floor and pulling up the carpet. Takes a few hours to pull it all apart, reconnect the cable and then put it all back together. But it's worth it if you don't want to use the key.

I'm having the opposite problem LoL, i can use lever but my key wont unlock the boot. How much will it cost to replace the lock to boot latch mechanism? does repco/autobarn sell them?

i think from memory (im a panel beater) the cable is 80 bucks or something ridiculous! And yes the drivers seat has to be lifted! I done the filler cap one in a station wagon a few weeks ago, took me about 20 minutes (the interior was out) but you'll have to lift the rear seat squab and carpet (remove sill panel cover) to get to it all.

same thing has happened to me.. i cant be bothered trying to fix it. Plus i see it as a safety feature. If anyone wants to get into my boot, this makes it that much harder :D
..unless they have a crowbar
