Well, upgraded from my K&N panel filter to my old stock Mitsubishi paper filter and saw improvements immediatly.

The car now idles faultlessly
It doesn't drone under load as much as it did
Muffler no longer shudders while under load
I'm not sure if I noticed a performance gain / loss bottom / top
Has a nicer, throatier note

Pity it didn't fix my noisy hubs or body rattles.

u pull an impressive 120kW @ wheels with muffler and k&n panel, and then you go back to a stock panel?

Why you do that I have no probs with my K&n panel filter :shock:

Is it one of those Valvoline performance paper filters (white I think)? Those aren't too bad apparently, but in all seriousness - I'd give cleaning the K&N a go. I first fitted my K&N panel when I had the Wagon and it was instant power gains over the stock pink paper filter.

i couldnt really notice a gain from stock to k&n cai setup..... :nuts:

My 3L storms in the top end with a K&N panel, but takeoffs SUCK BADLY (especially in city stp-start. Drives me mad in Sydney!)
